This Privacy Policy explains the personal information BANG processes through the website and related customer services. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Returns information.

02

Information we collect

Orders and delivery

When you place an order, we may collect information needed to fulfil it, such as your name, email address, telephone number where provided, billing details, delivery address, products ordered, order value, delivery information and order status.

Customer accounts

If you create an account, we process information such as your name, email address, account credentials and account/order history. Passwords are stored using password hashing rather than being stored as readable passwords.

Contact and support

If you contact BANG, we may process your name, email address, telephone number if supplied, order information and the contents of your enquiry so that we can respond and keep an appropriate support record.

Reviews and customer comments

If you submit a review or comment, we may process the name you provide, the location information you choose to publish, your review text and any optional contact details you provide. Optional telephone details should not be displayed publicly unless the website specifically says they will be.

Newsletter and marketing preferences

If you actively subscribe to BANG marketing communications, we may store your email address, subscription status and consent information, including when consent was recorded. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications.

Website and technical information

Like most websites, the server and security systems may process technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as IP address, browser/device information, request times, pages requested and security or error information. We use this information for essential operation, security, troubleshooting and fraud prevention.

We do not intentionally ask for sensitive personal data through the normal shopping process. Please do not submit health information, identity documents, passwords or other unnecessary sensitive information through contact forms.

03

How we use information

BANG uses personal information only where there is a valid reason to do so. Depending on the circumstances, this can include:

  • processing and fulfilling orders;
  • taking payment and confirming transactions;
  • arranging delivery and dealing with delivery problems;
  • providing customer support and responding to enquiries;
  • managing customer accounts and order history;
  • processing returns, refunds and complaints;
  • preventing fraud, abuse and unauthorised activity;
  • maintaining website security and reliability;
  • sending marketing where the required permission or other lawful basis applies;
  • managing reviews and customer feedback;
  • keeping appropriate business, accounting and tax records; and
  • complying with legal obligations or responding to lawful requests.

We do not sell customer personal information to third parties.

04

Lawful bases

Where UK data-protection law requires a lawful basis, the basis depends on what we are doing with the information.

ContractProcessing an order, account or other service you have requested.
Legal obligationKeeping records or complying with applicable legal, accounting, tax or consumer obligations.
Legitimate interestsOperating, securing and improving the store, preventing fraud and handling ordinary business administration, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
ConsentUsed where consent is required, for example certain marketing or non-essential tracking activities.

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not normally affect processing that took place lawfully before consent was withdrawn.

05

Payments

Online payments are handled through Stripe. BANG does not need to receive or store your full card number to process a normal Stripe checkout.

Payment and transaction information may be processed by Stripe as an independent service provider under its own privacy information and terms. BANG receives the payment and transaction information needed to identify and fulfil the order, reconcile payments and handle refunds or disputes.

Do not send full card numbers, security codes or passwords to BANG by email or through a contact form.

06

Who we may share information with

We only share information where it is necessary for the relevant purpose, required by law, or otherwise permitted by applicable data-protection rules.

  • Stripe: payment processing, payment status and related transaction handling.
  • Delivery providers: name, address and contact information needed to deliver an order or investigate delivery issues.
  • Website and infrastructure providers: information required to host, secure, maintain and operate the website.
  • Email/service providers: information needed to send transactional or support communications.
  • Professional advisers: where reasonably necessary for accounting, legal, tax or business matters.
  • Authorities: where disclosure is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

Service providers should only receive the information necessary for their role. Where applicable, BANG expects processors to handle information under appropriate contractual and security arrangements.

07

Cookies & similar technologies

BANG may use strictly necessary cookies or similar storage needed for functions such as maintaining a shopping session, customer login, security and the operation of the website.

These essential technologies are different from optional analytics or advertising cookies. BANG does not describe optional tracking as essential merely because it may be useful to the business.

If BANG introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or other tracking that requires consent, the website should provide the appropriate information and consent controls before that processing begins.

Your browser may also store technical information locally. Blocking all cookies can prevent some shopping, login or checkout features from working correctly.

08

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including applicable legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution requirements.

Examples include:

  • Orders and transaction records: retained for the period needed for accounting, tax, consumer, payment and dispute obligations.
  • Customer accounts: retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary for legal or security purposes.
  • Support enquiries: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the matter and maintain an appropriate business record.
  • Marketing subscriptions: subscription status and consent history may be retained so that BANG can respect your marketing choices and demonstrate how consent was obtained.
  • Security logs: retained for a proportionate period based on security, troubleshooting and abuse-prevention needs.

Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the record and legal requirements. When information is no longer required, it should be securely deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

09

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including:

  • to ask for access to personal information we hold about you;
  • to ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected;
  • to ask for deletion of personal information in circumstances where the law allows it;
  • to ask for processing to be restricted in certain circumstances;
  • to object to certain processing, including some processing based on legitimate interests;
  • to withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis;
  • to request portability of certain information where the legal conditions apply; and
  • to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

These rights are not absolute and exceptions can apply. For example, BANG may need to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Making a request

Contact orders@bangtshirt.com and explain what you need. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing personal information, particularly where the request concerns an account or order.

We will deal with valid requests within the period required by applicable data-protection law. If we need more information to identify the request or verify your identity, we may ask for it.

10

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If we become aware of a personal-data incident that requires notification under applicable law, we will take the required steps.

Customers should use a unique password for their BANG account and should never share their password or payment security information with anyone.

11
